1. Visit the Official Ledger Start Page

To begin, open your web browser and go directly to ledger.com/start. Avoid using links from emails or social media to protect against phishing attempts. Only trust the official Ledger domain.

2. Download Ledger Live

Ledger Live is the companion application for your Ledger hardware wallet. It lets you install apps, add accounts, and securely manage your cryptocurrencies from one interface.

3. Initialize Your Ledger Device

1. Connect your Ledger hardware wallet to your computer or phone.
2. Choose “Set up as new device” or “Restore from recovery phrase.”
3. Create a secure 4–8 digit PIN directly on the device.
4. Write down your 24-word recovery phrase on the provided recovery sheet.

4. Verify and Install Apps

After setup, open Ledger Live and install the cryptocurrency apps you plan to use. Each app enables support for specific coins or tokens directly on your Ledger device.

• Confirm each installation on the device screen.
• Only install apps from official Ledger sources.

5. Add Accounts and Manage Assets

Use Ledger Live to add accounts for Bitcoin, Ethereum, and hundreds of supported coins. Each time you send or receive funds, verify the transaction details on your device display before confirming.

• Regularly update your Ledger firmware and Ledger Live app.
